A BBC news report today states that Lord Hague, former conservatory party leader, claims that the war on cannabis is 'lost' and that legislation should change to make it easier for people to use it for medicinal purposes.
The result of this could impact businesses, with employees under the influence of cannabis becoming more prevalent in the workplace whilst claiming that they use it for 'medicinal purposes'. As a result, accurate workplace drug testing will become more necessary to distinguish between legitimate users and others using it as an excuse to use cannabis.
